Spoon Monoblocks fitted onto 09+ Fit (GE8)

Filed under: AJR News — ajracing @ 3:27 pm

We have fitted the Spoon monoblock calipers (4 piston) onto the 2009 Fit. With the combination with the T1R 300mmx 28mm rotors (4H100), the calipers and rotors aligned perfectly. There were no use of any under rotor spacers and this setup will fit under Volk Racing TE37 16*7 +42 and CE28N 16*7 +33.

Team Butte College Wins at the US Air Force 25 Hours of Thunderhill

Filed under: AJR News — ajracing @ 12:18 pm

Willows, CA (December 8, 2008) – The Butte College Motorsports team won their class at the 7th annual US Air Force 25 Hours of Thunderhill in Willows, California on December 7, 2008.  The team, composed of students in the Automotive Training Program entered the nation’s longest automobile race last month as a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation. The team managed to finish 43rd overall but first in their class.

The team raced a Honda S2000, with support by American Honda through their Professional Automobile Career Training (PACT) program.   Over seventy teams took the green flag on December 6th at 11:00 a.m. and continued, non-stop, around the three mile, fifteen turn Thunderhill road course until noon on Sunday.  This competition is the longest non-stop automobile race in North America.  The competition was paused this year for the first time ever, due to heavy fog that blanketed the facility.

The Honda S2000 ran flawlessly until a broken balljoint caused a suspension collapse and necessitated a tow to the pits.  The team of students quickly changed the parts and performed an alignment and sent the car back out on the track in less than an hour.  The car performed great after that with only a brake rotor change needed at the half way mark.

The driver line up included SCCA T3 Champion, David Vodden; NASA endurance expert Ali Arsham, Spec Miata ace Craig Evans, stock car champ Rod Powell and Brad Dressen.  The team managed to work through the night and fog with no major problems and no major incidents.

The team created much interest at the event being heavily covered by many media such as Autoblog.com and were extensively filmed in High Definition by the BF Goodrich PR team for an upcoming TV special.

Thanks goes out to the sponsors of the team for the race which helped make this a truly memorable event for the students and hopefully for Make a Wish Foundation.  These included BF Goodrich tires, PIAA lights, Advanced Clutch Technology, CT Engineering, MaxQData, Permatex, Hawk Brakes, Fram/Autolite Group, Gogogear.com, Type One Racing / A&J Racing and Autometer.
